Keep the wife happy for marriage to last

There was a saying “a happy wife, happy life” and a new study support this saying. According to a new study, the happiness of the wife determines how happy a marriage is compared to the happiness of the husband.
The study from Rutgers University and the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research shows that a more content wife brings more happiness to the union and leads to a happier husband. Deborah Carr, a professor from Rutger’s Sociology Department explains that this might be because women that are happy do everything for their husband making the husband happier too.

The research included 400 participants and most of the participants were asked about their health, income and disability. Most of the couples have been together on ab average o f39 years. According to the study, the impact of happiness mostly depends on health and well being of each couples especially as they grow older together.
